Karmaveer Kakasaheb Wagh Education Society is a leading educational trust in Nashik District. It is
registered under Societies Registration Act 1860 and Bombay Public Trust Act 1950. It was
established in 1970 by the visionary leader Late Padmashree Karmaveer Kakasaheb Wagh. In the
rural area people were not well aware about the importance of education; due to illiteracy the
bahujan samaj was deprived from development. Therefore, Kakasaheb realized the importance
of education for upliftment of rural masses and started with a school at Bhausahebnagar in
Niphad Tehsil. As per the need of Technical Persons for HAL, a technical school is started in
K.K.Wagh Vidyabhavan.
As per the growth of Industrial units in Nashik District, the Education Society has recognized the
need of technical education and hence started K.K.Wagh Polytechnic in 1983 and K. K. Wagh
College of Engineering in 1984 at Bhausahebnagar in Niphad Tehsil later on shifted to Nashik City.
In the rural area there was no facility of education especially for women, for education they have
to go to district place, in this situation, many of the girls are deprived from education, and hence
the Education Society has started a separate school for girls “Gitai Wagh Kanya Vidyalaya in 1993”
and K.K.Wagh Women’s Polytechnic in 1996.
In the rural area there was less response of students due to lack of quality teachers and hence , the
education society has decided to shift the Polytechnic and Engineering College in Nashik. Later on
the education society received a land of 23 acres from the well-known Philanthropist Late
Kakusheth Udeshi who was Director of Hansraj Surji Charitable Trust, Nashik. The land was
utilized by K.K.Wagh Education Society to establish an ideal Technical Campus known as ‘Hirabai
Haridas Vidyanagari’. This picturesque Campus houses the Engineering College, Polytechnic and
Pharmacy Colleges.
K.K.Wagh Education Society has completed its journey of 50 years in January 2020. The Education
Society has celebrated the Golden Jubilee year. On this occasion, several social, academic and
environmental programs were arranged to express our gratitude towards society.
